Who am I?

Growing up - I dreaded those "myself " days.

Where you have to stand up infront of your class and narrate who you are.

It used to go something like- "Myself "- my name is khuthadzo, my surname is mbedzi, my mom's name is Livhuwani, my father's name is Simon, .."

Sure that refreshes your mind- yah that- I didn't like it. I don't particularly know why , but as much as I loved public speaking since I was in primary- I enjoyed acting, reading a book in front of the class except for this whole myself business.

I got to high school, and they were still making us do myself 🤦🏾‍♀️. I don't remember what I used to say I wanted to be when I grow up, but I'm certain I would not have said a chartered accountant- because I didn't know that profession until mid year in my matric year.

Now let me get to the core of the story. I now understand why myself is and was important. At those early stages of my life, I don't have things to define myself by- so my name, my gender, my parents and siblings is all I have in my mind, those are all things I had no control of choosing over.

I did not knowingly choose my parents, siblings, gender etc, and now I see why that understanding of who I am is.

I believe because I was young I didn't get it, and even now as an adult, if I had not intentionally start asking myself who I am, it would not have clicked.

Who I am is not what I do , it is me in relation to the world and not the world in relation to me.

Let me break it down.

Who I am is who I have always been, which time better potrays to me and the world.

Who I am is what makes up my life and my world view. Who I am is the evolution that takes place from the day I was born, to the day I die.

Who I am is Khuthadzo, I may have picked up Magic along the way but it doesn't change the person.

Who is Magic or Khuthadzo??

She is a loving, bubbly, full of life, intelligent,talented, special, curious, respectful, creative, lover of life, attentive, loveable soul living in a petite, short , beautiful body.Her soul was created by God and naturally it longs for God's presence, that even if the body is doing it's own thing, the soul forever longs for God.

That is who Khuthadzo is( using a few descriptive words).

And if I look back to when I was younger to now, Khuthadzo has been daily expressing who she is in different ways.

She gets different opportunities to showcase who she is in the different roles she holds.

Khuthadzo shows her loving nature- by being an awesome daughter , great sister and amazing friend. Khuthadzo shows her intelligence and creative nature in her jobs, and Khuthadzo's curiosity is what keeps her going and never giving up. she also shows her longing for God through her commitment to having a relationship with God and with God's people ( church and prayer groups) and she will in future extend her loving nature ( giving and receiving) to her husband and children.

Please note Khuthadzo is not her job or the roles she plays. Khuthadzo is whole by herself, in relation to nobody, and that is why she is unique. Her identity can not be that of anyone else, no matter the similarities.

You reading this - who are you??

Re-assess who you are, and your life and all you do with your time will reflect back who you are.

The reason circumstances don't affect Khuthadzo much, is because she knows- there are happenings and there is her, happenings and people around her should never change her, if anything she must continue to be who she is and revealing that to herself and the world in how she does everything and how she relates to the world. The world doesn't affect her- as she found it and will leave it, she is focused on her existence and all she ought to be, and the world has space for her and that is why she is here.

You are more powerful than you think. Know who you are and the world 🌎 will allow you to be.

You are more than what people think, you are more than who loves you, you are more than the things that choose you or reject you,you are more than the things you have or you don't have.

All can change, but will you stand, and if so, as what are you standing as.

Answer yourself to the question:

Who am I??

Be that person and you will not loose you, no matter what presents itself in your world.

You are you, and no one is like you , that is your super power🦋
